Blessings

The last few months have been a stretching time for our family. There have been many different circumstances that have occurred that have caused me to question God. Why have the girls been sick for the last 3 months? When is our house going to sell? Why does my family and my closest friends have to live across (or OUT of) the country? The Lord has really revealed to me through these questions and through my discontent, about how little I trust His goodness and grace. His word promises me that he will withhold NO good thing from me. His word promises me that HE has a plan for my life...plans of GOODNESS...of HOPE and a FUTURE (Jer. 29:11). I have been so anxious about seeing our house sold. That may, or may not be God's plan for our lives right now. I have to trust that whatever the outcome, that He is in control and is to be glorified. I have to think on TRUTH. I am just praying that I can live our Phillipians 4:6 in my life right now. "Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God."

I just love the song "Blessings" by Laura Story. Every time I get in the car, I pray that it will be on the radio. About a week ago, Landon's mom gave him the song on a CD to practice for a special. So now, I just listen to the song over and over to my hearts content. Every time I hear it I cry....and not just cry...but BAWL. I'm sure the other drivers on the road just think I'm a crazy, weepy lady....I don't care! This song reminds me of God's goodness and love. If you haven't heard it....go listen to it HERE.

"Blessings" by Laura Story
We pray for blessings
We pray for peace
Comfort for family, protection while we sleep
We pray for healing, for prosperity
We pray for Your mighty hand to ease our suffering
All the while, You hear each spoken need
Yet love us way too much to give us lesser things

‘Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
What if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know You’re near
What if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise

We pray for wisdom
Your voice to hear
And we cry in anger when we cannot feel You near
We doubt Your goodness, we doubt Your love
As if every promise from Your Word is not enough
All the while, You hear each desperate plea
And long that we'd have faith to believe

‘Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
What if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know You’re near
And what if trials of this life are Your mercies in disguise

When friends betray us
When darkness seems to win
We know the pain reminds this heart
That this is not, this is not our home,
It's not our home

‘Cause what if Your blessings come through raindrops
What if Your healing comes through tears
And what if a thousand sleepless nights
Are what it takes to know You’re near
What if my greatest disappointments
Or the aching of this life
Is the revealing of a greater thirst this world can’t satisfy
And what if trials of this life
The rain, the storms, the hardest nights
Are Your mercies in disguise
