My Amazing Job...

Mother's day was a special day for me! I got to enjoy it with three special little girls. They (as in Landon) gave me a sweet card and a potted hydrangea (which I have already killed after actually TRYING to take special care of it. Sorry Landon). We enjoyed chipotle for dinner and a vanilla cone from McDonalds for dessert.

I have recently started reading a book called "Don't make me count to three!" by Ginger Plowman. In short, it is a book about really reaching to the HEART where the sinful behavior stems from. It is full of practical advice to parents about disciplining our children in the way of the Lord. After reading through part of the first chapter, my heart was already convicted. The Lord has entrusted me with THREE precious little children. He has given me a very important and amazing job. He is also going to equip me with the skill and energy needed to accomplish this task of raising my sweet girls. This "job" is something I should be passionate about because "the joys of motherhood are rare and beautiful treasures that can easily be missed if we don't seize the opportunity to grab them". SO many times I have put the laundry, cleaning, shopping, and cooking before spending time with my children and just LOVING them. I have the ability to shape the person my girls will become. I need to take the time to LOVE, nurture, train, guide and build their confidence.

So today as I write this I am waiting patiently for all my little girls to wake up from their nap so we can spend a couple hours together before dinner. I hope I can be a Godly woman and mother to my girls. I hope they will see Christ in me and want to follow my example. Lastly...I am just SO THANKFUL that God has trusted me with 3 precious children who call me Mommy. I am so blessed.

Crazy Parents at midnight...

This is Lauren happy as can be!

Freely giving some sweet kisses!

There are a few questions we have answered a few hundred times since we added the twins to our family.

1. Are they twins? Hmm....no...they just look exactly the same and are the same size.
2. Are they boys? Sure....boys with earrings, pink damask car seats, pink shirts and bows stuck to their head with KY jelly.
3. Do you get any sleep at night? This is one question that Landon and I avoided answering directly. We tried not to "jinx" ourselves by answering completely. To be honest the girls have been sleeping through the night at about 8 weeks old. Since we did our best to keep them on the same feeding/napping/sleeping schedule they would sleep and wake around the same time. God really blessed us with babies who slept at night. He knew we needed all the strength to take care of the kids the next day!

All that to say....every couple nights Landon and I go into the twins room and pick up a sleeping baby. Just to hold them. They immediately wake up. They will not allow us to rock them to sleep or hold them while they are sleeping. They just smile and play for a couple minutes with us in bed until we put them back in their cribs. So we are pretty crazy for waking our babies up in the middle of the night while they are sleeping so soundly...but we just love that sweet couple of minutes with our sweet little babies. They won't be little for long!
